On the lines of Digital India Program, State Government of Andhra Pradesh through Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (INCAP) has called for a project to set up a state-wide high speed, optical fiber infrastructure leveraging the existing assets of the electricity transmission/distribution companies such as electric poles/substation etc.

Terasoft has bagged this prestigious AP FiberGrid project worth Rs.292.98 Crores from Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.  The Scope of the Project includes Fiber cable supply pulling over the electric poles covering 23,000 Kms across 13 Districts of Andhra Pradesh and connecting to different PoPs identified at District, Zonal, Mandal and Substation level; Design and Setting up of Network Operating Center (NOC) at Visakhapatnam with required Networking components viz. Servers, Routers, Switches and other communication equipments; Establishing PoPs (Point of Presence) – 12 at district level, 49 at Zonal level, 605 at Mandal level and 1784 at Sub-Station level and establishing connectivity between NOC and all the PoPs.

This project is the first of its kind in the FiberNet domain in India

Salient Features:

  • Setting up state-wide high-speed optical fibre infrastructure by leveraging the existing assets (electric poles and substation) of the electricity transmission & distribution companies
  • Sharing infrastructure with the ISPs, TSPs, MSOs and content providers etc on a non-discriminatory basis under Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) and Platform as a Service (PAAS) model
  • Extending the services to the last mile user through PoPs at around 2449 substations and further utilising the existing LCO network wherever available
  • Developing sustainable business models for last-mile operators, and also providing institutional ecosystem with a platform for delivering products and services
  • Delivering services to 10 lakh broadband home subscribers and 60000 enterprise customers with Triple play services (Internet, Telephone and IPTV).
